IELTS Academic Module Exam Format

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Module is a standardized test that measures the language proficiency of non-native English speakers who want to study in foreign countries. The IELTS test has four sections:

  1. Listening: The listening section consists of four recorded conversations or monologues. The test-taker will listen to the recordings and answer questions based on them. The test lasts for 30 minutes and includes 40 questions.
  2. Reading: The reading section consists of three reading passages with increasing difficulty. The test-taker will answer 40 questions based on the passages in 60 minutes.
  3. Writing: The writing section consists of two tasks. In the first task, the test-taker is presented with a graph, table, chart, or diagram and is required to summarize the information in their own words.
